OPEN CALL FOR PROJECTS IN THE AREA OF SOUTH EAST EUROPE!
CircusNext is a European platform for new, artistic young authors in the field of contemporary circus. It is the only circus project selected for the Creative Europe Platform 2017-2021. With 22 members from 14 European countries, the ambition to identify unique creators and the desire to program them in Europe and beyond – CircusNext is much more than a project. It is a way to imagine and support together the growth of the European contemporary circus.
A European applications process will be conducted twice during the 2017-2021 period, with the number of artistic projects selected. Those selected are provided with financial support, residency programs, coaching and workshops, extensive marketing assistance and partnerships in international networks. Cirkusfera is a member of the platform and part of the selection committee. The committee consists of representatives from key circus centers and circus festivals in Europe, as well as experienced artists from circus field.
The new CircusNext Platform 2019-2021 now launches its second call for new projects!
The selection is done in three phases:
- Each country sets up its own national selection process, meaning a first selection will be held per region. For the region of Southeast Europe (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Alabania, Northern Macedonia and Serbia), the Cirkusfera from Belgrade is responsible for the implementation of the project along with ROOM 100 from Split and Cirkoram from Zagreb. A selection committee consisting of Jadranka Žinić Mijatović, Antonia Kuzmanić, Milan Manić, Johny Torres and Molly Saudek, will select maximum four regional projects. These projects are thereby eligible to apply for the European selection.
- The European selection committee will evaluate around 30 projects, of which 12 will be selected on “pre-selection week” in Belgium in order to present their projects.
- Six projects (“laureates”) will be selected for support.
Deadline for applications: June 7th at 12h.
